Emotional Health Platform
Young people in Australia are facing an unprecedented occurrence of mental health issues including anxiety, depression and self-harm. Increasingly, secondary schools and tertiary institutions are on the front line of education and awareness for mental health issues for young people. Almost 1 in 7 children and adolescents aged 4–17 years in Australia were assessed as having mental health disorders in 2017, which is equivalent to about 575,000 children and adolescents.
Their Business Problem
Education institutions often struggle to facilitate awareness of mental health issues. There is a lack of resources and no digital infrastructure to help schools and tertiary institutions to reach young people and their carers through the most appropriate and effective channel – mobile devices. Traditional web sites do not offer the appropriate content, asset and mobile app management tools. Working with Barrenjoey High School on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Unifii undertook in 2017 to build a turnkey digital platform solution to provide young people and their carers with a comprehensive suite of tools to help deal with a broad range of mental health issues.
The Unifii Digital Transformation Platform delivers instant access to a very broad range of information and resources to young people in crisis. The solution provides users with a mobile application, curated content and an optimised user experience that makes it extremely easy to access help via any smartphone, tablet or computer. The assets and content are managed via the Unifii platform console and the platform is massively scalable and is designed to be used by every high school and tertiary institution across Australia.
